Lisa Perrotti-Brown 90-92 points www.robertparker.com Sporting a deep garnet-purple color, the 2019 du Glana prances out of the glass with flamboyant black cherry preserves, warm cassis and wild blueberries scents plus hints of chocolate mint, tobacco leaf and Indian spices. Medium-bodied, the palate has a beautiful, velvety texture with loads of black fruit and exotic spice flavors highlighted by seamless freshness, finishing on a lingering aniseed note.
Antonio Galloni 89-91 points www.vinous.com The 2019 du Glana is a bold, juicy Saint-Julien. Inky dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, spice, leather and menthol flesh out in an exotic, flashy Saint-Julien. Although Glana is quite racy in style, it retains a mid-weight sense of structure that is hugely appealing. Readers will find a decidedly forward style.
Neal Martin 94-96 points www.vinous.com The 2019 du Glana offers dark chocolate and clove-tinged black fruit on the nose. It would benefit from more delineation, though it does gain refinement with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, fine acidity and much more freshness on the finish than on the nose. If the aromatics meliorate then it will merit a higher score.
Jane Anson 92 points www.decanter.com (at Bordeaux, 30 May 2020) Medium to full intensity inky purple colour, an excellent Glana and one to recommend for medium-term St Julien pleasure. Pretty broad shouldered, as this wine often is, with clearly defined strands of blueberry and blackberry fruits, alongside slate and crushed stone to add restraint and texture. Chocolate dusting on the finish.Drinking Window 2026 – 2042
