Yves Beck 92-94 points www.yvesbeck.wine 66% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot Pourpre violacé.
Jane Anson 92 points www.decanter.com (at Bordeaux, 10 Nov 2020) Rich dark fruits on the nose. White pepper and spice are at the fore, and there is a touch of evident reduction, but it opens well in the glass. As it unrolls you see a gourmet style, with a little more concentration than you normally find in this wine. Biodynamic. Drinking Window 2026 – 2045
Jeb Dunnuck 91-94 points www.jebdunnuck.com Checking in as a blend of 66% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2018 Château Mazeyres is packed with potential. Offering a modern feel in its pure blue fruits, graphite, spring flowers, and violet-laced aromatics, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a terrific sense of purity and elegance, fine tannins, and impressive length. It’s another Pomerol from the team of Thomas Duclos that shows the fresher, more elegant side to the vintage.
